Vocational Training

VOCATIONAL TRAINING EXPERIENCE
Pre-employment learning experiences, which may include in-school or after school opportunities, or experiences outside the traditional school setting (including internships, volunteer opportunities or service learning), provided in an integrated environment to the maximum extent possible. These experiences are developed to prepare an individual for employment. Services include support and training in behaviors related to: following directions, attending to task, task completion, problem solving, increasing productivity, safety, and assisting the person to adjust to the productive and social relationship demands of a work place.

WORKPLACE READINESS TRAINING Typically provides training in skill areas other than vocational development that students will need to function independently in relation to employment. Skill areas may include, but are not limited to, use of public transportation, money and time management.   Students also develop workplace skills by participating in
our program run business—High 5 Apparel. Students, working along with teachers, market and create clothing for many different customers. Students learn the process of a business by knowing the ordering process and the production operation of a screen printing business.
